Some organizations don't just cover the news. They become the heartbeat of a community. 🖤👑 Henry Sanders, Jr A. David Dahmer Chappell Waheed Madison365
Madison365 has been that heartbeat for this city in a way no other media organization has. While others told Madison's story from the outside looking in — Madison365 built a home inside the community itself. A platform rooted in truth, unapologetic in its commitment to Black and brown voices, and unwavering in its belief that every story in this city deserves to be told with dignity, depth, and accuracy.
That does not happen without the people behind it.
Urban Triage is profoundly honored to present the Golden Hour of Truth Award to Madison365 and the extraordinary leaders who have made it what it is — because truth in media is not just a professional standard. In communities like ours, it is an act of liberation. 💛
Henry Sanders Jr. — The founder and CEO whose vision turned a dream into one of the most important media platforms in Wisconsin. Henry did not just build a company. He built a declaration that Black Madison's story would be told by Black Madison's people. His leadership has opened doors, shifted narratives, and set a standard this city will feel for generations.
A. David Dahmer — A journalistic force whose commitment to honest, community-centered storytelling has helped Madison365 earn the trust of readers who had every reason not to trust media at all. David's work reminds us that truth-telling is not just a skill — it is a calling. And he answers it every single time.
Robert Chappell — A pillar of Madison365 whose contributions behind and in front of the work have helped shape the voice, the vision, and the values that make this organization unlike anything else in this market. Robert's presence in Madison's media landscape has quietly and powerfully changed what excellence looks like here.
Omar Waheed — A storyteller and leader whose work at Madison365 has brought depth, nuance, and humanity to stories that could have easily been reduced to headlines. Omar understands that the people behind the news are the news — and his commitment to that truth has made Madison a more informed and more empathetic city.
Together, these four men and the entire Madison365 team have done something rare and irreplaceable. They have given Madison's most underrepresented communities a mirror — and shown them something worth being proud of every single time they looked. 🖤✨
On July 19th at The Golden Hour: Reclaiming Our Crown, we place this crown in all of their hands. Because the truth they have told deserves to be celebrated long before now.
