Grateful for a wonderful and packed month!

What a September it has been at Red Summit Productions, and as we close out the month, we're heading straight into Q4 with the whole team fired up.

18 shoots. 17 days on set & a string of edits. New York City, Missouri, Kansas, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Texas. One month, six states, and a team that never slowed down.

September took us into every kind of world. Five-day podcast productions and podcasts for a major hospital network. Internal productions for a major banking client. Screenings and EPKs for a major streaming service. A dog brand with a football star, and a cat brand with a major influencer, filming across NYC on the street, in a studio, and in a store. A state fair in Texas for a major automotive client, a full-scale pharma production in New Jersey, and agency work in between.

Behind every one of those shoot days was the work most people never see. Street permits, prop sourcing, talent scouting, and a hundred small details handled long before call time. Putting the puzzle pieces together before the camera ever rolls is a huge part of why clients keep coming back.

An empty room is just a starting point.

When a client comes to us with a vision, we bring every puzzle piece needed to make it real. That starts long before the cameras roll: prop sourcing, set dressing, and working with top prop stylists to take a blank space and build something intentional, warm, and tailored to the story.

Then comes the ex*****on. The way a space is lit changes everything, and what looks like a simple interview setup is the result of hours of careful planning, positioning, and refinement.

When a client asks for paparazzi-style content inside a black SUV, you have to think through every possible outcome before setting foot on set.

Pulling that off on the streets of Manhattan, especially during UN General Assembly week, means battling unpredictable weather, shifting light, street noise, massive crowds, and zero control.

So we made a different call: We brought the SUV inside.

At Untitled Studios in NYC, we rigged the vehicle with custom lighting and audio, built the scene around it, and created the high-energy paparazzi moment in a fully controlled environment. No weather delays. No city noise. No compromises. Just the shot.

Days like this are all about momentum. When one variable shifts, everything else has to pivot seamlessly, all held together by a rock-solid call sheet.

That’s what 16 years of production experience looks like: finding the solution before the problem ever touches the set.

Not every hero on set gets a screen credit. Meet our stand-ins, a.k.a. our full-time crew and staff.

While principal talent is in hair and makeup, reviewing lines, or saving energy, someone has to hold the mark so our DP and gaffer can lock in lighting setups, camera angles, and focus.

We love calling on our own team to step into the spotlight. One minute you're producing a call sheet or logging footage, and the next you're standing under very expensive cinema lights, holding a tape measure to your nose, and soaking up your moment as the star of the pre-light. It keeps our sets nimble, saves precious time, and honestly? It makes for some of the best behind-the-scenes footage we have.

In 16 years as Executive Producer, I've learned that a great production isn't just built on high-end gear. It's built on a team willing to wear every hat (and hold every mark).

So here's to our crew: thanks for holding the frame, looking surprisingly photogenic under test lights, and letting us borrow your star power before the real cameras roll!

Working with family!

Thank you Jill King and trusting us with your podcast project in NYC. We recently put together a set with four Rachael Ray Show alums, people I worked alongside years ago on one of the most iconic daytime television shows in the country. That show is where it all started for us. We were figuring out the industry, running on high energy, and learning what it takes to pull off great TV every single day.

Since then, all of us have gone on to build our own careers, our own paths, and our own chapters in this industry. And then, a project comes along that puts you all back in the same room.
That feeling is hard to put into words. You pick up right where you left off. The shorthand is still there. The trust is still there. The laughs are even better! The energy on set when you are working with people who genuinely know, respect, and share a history with each other is what we love to do. You cannot manufacture that. You have to earn it over years of showing up together.

Truly, this industry is smaller than people think, and the relationships you build at the beginning stay with you forever. The crew is not just a list of names on a call sheet, it is your family. Getting to do great work with family, where it all began and where we are today, is what this is truly all about. Stay tuned for some great content created from some veteran rock stars!

Every detail of a production matters. Even the ones that happen before you walk through the door.

Permitting a parking spot in New York City to hold our production truck right outside the location is one of those things that most people never think about. But when you are running a full crew in and out of a building all day long, having your equipment truck locked in right out front is everything. No running around the block, no wasted time, no scrambling. Just a seamless load in and a day that runs exactly the way it should.

It is one of those behind the scenes details that separates a smooth production day from a chaotic one. At Red Summit we handle all of it: the permits, the logistics, the planning, so our clients never have to think twice.

We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate our birthday than with some of our founding and favorite freelancers. We also were on set shooting an EPK for a major streaming platform. A plus talent. An incredible crew on our special day!

For those who are not familiar, an EPK (electronic press kit), is the content created around a show or film for press and promotional use. Interviews, behind the scenes footage, talent on camera telling the story of the project. It is a production that lives at the intersection of journalism and storytelling and when it is done right it makes you want to watch whatever they are promoting immediately.

This one had everything. Access to an incredible office space, talent that brought their absolute best, and a crew that was dialed in from the first setup to the last shot. The energy in that room was something you just had to be there to feel. Every department locked in, every moment captured, and a final product we are incredibly proud of.

EPK productions are one of our specialties at Red Summit and this one raised the bar. Getting trusted with a project at this level is something we do not take lightly.

We were honored to be the team for this one. More to come.

Brooklyn Bridge. More than 1,000 New Yorkers. Weighted packs and a whole lot of heart.

Sunday we filmed the Remembrance Ruck, New York City's inaugural city sponsored ruck march honoring veterans, organized by the NYC Mayor’s Office, NYC Department of Veterans’ Services, and New York Road Runners.

From Cadman Plaza in Brooklyn across the Brooklyn Bridge to Foley Square in Manhattan, participants carried weighted packs in the tradition of military service, a symbol of the endurance and shared burden that defines it.

We are honored to have been behind the camera for this one. To every veteran and military family who was there on Sunday, thank you for your service.

I often talk about the importance of a great team and the relationships we form over the years. This week that all came together when I had the privilege to work with my good friend, Jill King. Jill and I worked together at the Rachael Ray show and have been a part of each other's careers over the years. It was incredible to team up with her on her newest project and podcast!

Transforming a functioning hotel into a top-tier, broadcast-ready studio for five straight days is no small feat and it requires speed, precision, and relentless energy. Between dialing in the audio, executing dynamic multi-cam setups, and having a packed shoot schedule, our crew raised it.

Huge shoutout to the crew. Your hustle, technical brilliance, and unmatched vibe made this production an absolute dream to lead. When you stack the room with deep-rooted trust and top-tier talent, magic happens on the monitor every single time.
