This started as an old saw handle—something that had already lived a full life in a workshop somewhere. Instead of letting it fade away, it was given a second purpose.

Now it sits somewhere between function and art. It can be a charcuterie board, a piece for the wall, or even a personalized sign for a shop or den. However it’s used, it carries a little history with it—the kind you don’t get from anything new off a shelf.

It’s the kind of piece that makes people stop, pick it up, and ask where it came from. And that’s really the point.

People love to say a CNC machine does all the work. It doesn’t. It does exactly what it’s told—and that’s where the real work happens.

What you don’t see:
Designing the piece from scratch.
Building the toolpaths.
Dialing in speeds and feeds.
Cutting test pieces.
Choosing the right bits.
Snapping a few along the way.
Fixing mistakes.
Running it again… and again… until it’s right.

It takes time to get a machine to do what you want, not what it wants. But when it finally runs clean and cuts exactly how it should, it’s worth every bit of frustration.

The machine is just a tool. The result still comes down to the person behind it.

This is what happens when a cutting board isn’t cared for.

Wood moves. It swells when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries out. If you soak it, leave it sitting in water, or never oil it, it will eventually crack.

Here’s how to prevent it:

• Don’t soak it
• Never put it in the dishwasher
• Wash quickly and dry right away
• Stand it on edge to dry
• Oil it regularly with food-grade mineral oil
• Keep it away from heat

A good cutting board should last for years. Take care of it, and it’ll take care of you.

Cribbage is nearly 400 years old. It was invented in England around 1630 by Sir John Suckling, who cleaned up an older game called Noddy and made it faster and easier to score. The peg board was the game-changer — no arguing, you can see the score.

That’s why sailors, soldiers, and everyday folks kept playing it… and why we still do today.

Learn before you burn your money on bad boards, also know how to care for your new cutting board. Once you buy it, take care of your investment. Not doing so, will result in making your good board go bad.
