“In Rosenhaus’s world, even the colors take on an ethereal glow. Yellows are not just yellows, but mustard and brass. Reds are burgundy, rust, blush, coral and clay - throughout the house, what appear as complex tones are masterfully distilled blends of primary colors. “The earthy, muted play on primary colors is a bit of a nod on my part to the bold primaries of the Bauhaus, which is foundational to my approach as a designer,” Rosenhaus says.” from the Dec/Jan issue of words by

“I love anything that feels a little imperfect, made by hand, and natural materials lend themselves to that,” she says. “There is a beauty in the way that you can’t perfectly mold nature, and I love it when that comes through in objects. Perhaps it reminds me that it’s OK that I am not perfect.” - some of my musings about our modern project in the current issue of

“Even more modern makers are represented in the private spaces, such as the primary bedroom, where a woven fiber art wall sculpture by Candice Luter holds court above the bed. Its hues are picked up in the Brent Bennett ceramic lamps on the bedside tables, and in the rust Kvadrat fabric on the Togo chairs by Michel Ducaroy, from Ligne Roset. (“I love how low profile the Togo series is, and the organic way that they kind of slouch,” Rosenhaus says.)” - words by for

“Linen is the texture of effortless chic, and Rosenhaus, while exercising studied restraint, uses it to great effect throughout - Calvin linen, in creamy off white on the custom bed and an almost diaphanous whisper of gray for the draperies, is unencumbered by pattern, and practically weightless as the bottom edges barely graze the wood floor.“ - Erika Heet for

The brief for this project was to add live-able character with midcentury influences to this modern new build. In addition sustainability and durability for a family with young children were top priority.
The organic shape of the mustard barstools add texture and warmth to the otherwise angular charcoal and white kitchen. Brass accents echo the warmth of the mustard stools.
‘Globe pendants from Pablo Designs over the kitchen island “are a modern nod to the midcentury classic,” Rosenhaus notes’ in the current issue of

“It was really important to the client to create areas where the kids could play and cuddle and lounge,” Rosenhaus says. “They wanted the home to be warm and accessible and kid friendly but still stylish and elevated.” - from the dec/jan issue of
Most days when I visit this home there are puzzles and books strewn atop the Formica topped coffee table and toys scattered across the rug which the client wanted to make sure was soft enough to sit and lay and play on. Our client wanted the space to be able to handle life with young children and still clean up in a sophisticated way.
The sofa is covered in a durable outdoor linen textured fabric. The swivel chairs allow interaction with the living room and an easy twirl orients the user to the garden outside. When the wall of sliding doors is open - creating in indoor outdoor experience.
