At the Flamingo Resort in March for this fun Bar Mitzvah! For this event we had the large sound setup for the bigger room (two 18-inch subs and two tops) as well as moving heads to add ambience, 16 uplights around the room, projector and a/v setup for the slideshow and presentation, and the digital-only Social Booth to help capture lots of great moments. 📸

This wedding was down in San Francisco also back in March (at the InterContinental Hotel), and for this wedding the setup was the Platinum Package (two 15-inch subs with two 12 inch tops), light bar on Gravity stand, Everse 8 as my side-fill speaker, a 50watt monogram projector (on Gravity stand), 14 wireless uplights (to fill the large room), and a single wireless pinspot light to highlight the cake. 🪩
This was the first gig using the Gravity stands, and I’ve used them at every event since (they’re great!). While the 50watt projector puts out a bright projection, I’ve since switched to only using digital monograms (as the clarity on traditional gobo projectors just isn’t as sharp on large walls as I would like). I’m only using the traditional projectors for texture gobos now (texture projections are patterns like leafs, ferns, snowflakes, etc, which they do perfectly). 📽️
This was a fun wedding in a big beautiful room and it was great to be a part of making the day happen. And the drive wasn’t too bad either! 💍 🎉

Next up was my first wedding at Viansa Winery in Sonoma, which has become (over the past year) one of the venues I seem to be at most often. What I like about this venue (besides its a really beautiful spot!) is that it is so open and has really high ceilings - and that makes all lighting options look great in there.
For this wedding we provided our open air photobooth, uplighting, and coverage for multiple locations (ceremony on the lawn, cocktail and dinner on the patio, and dancing inside). It was a fun wedding and everyone was having a great time! 🎉

Catching up with updating the 'gig log' from so many great events last Summer and now this Summer. Here's a few from last August (which was my last month flying of back and forth from Sonoma to San Diego while I finished up my San Diego commitments).
First up was my first wedding up in Ukiah, and for this one I brought the cold sparkulars (4), uplighting, as well as a my full turntable/mixer setup. I definitely prefer DJing with turntables, as that was what I spent the first ten years DJing with at the clubs/bars in San Diego (and is still my current home setup).
Then it was back to San Diego for three weddings - at Green Gables, Tivoli, and Botanica, before heading back up to Sonoma for a wedding at Viansa. Overall a fun first half of last August!

The following weekend was split between San Diego and Sonoma County, with Friday's wedding at The Darlington House in La Jolla, and then Saturday's wedding at the Annadel Estate Winery in Santa Rosa. The early morning flight on Saturday got me back here in time to be a part of both weddings without too much trouble, and both weddings went really smoothly and were great to be a part of! The following week was out first full-size wedding up here in Sonoma County, this time at The Estate Yountville in Yountville. This was our first time here, and it was a truly beautiful venue. For this wedding, we had four location setups - ceremony on the grass, cocktail hour in the courtyard, dinner on the outdoor patio, and then dancing inside the barrel room. For the dancing portion, we had uplighting around the perimeter (to highlight the room) as well our fun open air photo booth. This was a great wedding and the bride and groom were so great to work with!

Back home in Santa Rosa the following week for this fun wedding - this time at the Russian River Brewery in Santa Rosa. This was my first time at this location, and we had the venue divided into several locations: the ceremony was on the lower level, then cocktail was on the main level patio, dinner was a bit further away in front of the restaurant area, and then for dancing everyone headed inside to the barrel room.
They had a musical duo that had flown in from Nashville to provide music for the ceremony and cocktail hour, so that was really fun to watch and be a part of. I provided sound for the duo, and then officially took over once dinner service began.
It was a wonderful wedding with great weather and I was very happy to share in such a fun day! Congratulations to the new bride and groom!

I flew down to San Diego the following week for these three amazing summer weddings. First up was Tivoli in Fallbrook, followed by Twin Oaks in San Marcos, and then finally The Grand Tradition in Fallbrook. It was a great time being a part of these weddings and sharing in these wonderful celebrations! 🥂

The following week was up here in Yountville (Napa) for this smaller but very joyous wedding reception.
The ceremony was off-site, and then the reception was at the church's event space. I started once guests started arriving post-ceremony, so we did cocktail hour into dinner and dancing all in this space. Everyone was having a great time and it was a really wonderful wedding.

Some highlights from my third wedding up in Northern California this past summer. This was at a beautiful private residence in Sebastopol, and there were three location setups for this wedding (ceremony and cocktail, dinner, and then dancing in front of the barn).
At the start of 2023 I was flying back and forth between San Diego and Sonoma, and for the first half of the year, most of the weddings were in San Diego. In order to properly service the San Diego weddings, I needed a storage space down there (as well as my van), so it was quite the challenge. This wedding in June marked the start of the phasing out the San Diego weddings (and passing them on to my other DJs down there) and being able to focus on weddings up here.
Everyone had a great time at this wedding (and the couple were so great to work with!), and most of the guests stayed on the property after the wedding was over and sat around the fire pits. Just a great wedding! Congratulations to the bride and groom! 🥂
