YouTube TV to Drop Disney's ABC, ESPN and Other Networks After Two Sides Fail to Reach New Deal.

Disney’s networks including ESPN and ABC are going dark on YouTube TV. Google says YouTube TV expects to remove Disney’s networks at the stroke of midnight ET, after the two sides remain far apart on a deal renewal to keep ABC, ESPN and more on the internet TV service. The main sticking point is...

I received this photo and text from a fomer student celebrating her first Howard homecoming as an alumni. She shared, “Seeing you was the highlight of my day yesterday! Thank you for always pouring into me and being the best professor a student could ever have. I hope you had a great homecoming and ofc I will stay in touch.”

If I do nothing else in life, teaching the Baby Bison and knowing I made a difference in their lives is enough for me. Also, can someone tell me what “ofc” stands for??? Darn Baby Bison and their abbreviations!

Howard Homecoming 2025 owes me nothing! I had a love-filled weekend of hugs, laughter, strategic planning, honest conversations, reflection, and reconnection. The time together always feels far too short. But spending time with my Bison family fills me up every time. My heart is full and my soul is at peace. Until next year, Bison! And remember, we are ALWAYS “One of One.”

I decided I wouldn’t totally sit out No Kings Day. I went to a small rally close to home. It was just a handful of folks standing in solidarity against authoritarian rule. It was small, safe, peaceful and full of heart.

I chatted it up with a lovely mom out with her family. Her T-shirt said “Immigrants Make America Great.” She said she loved my t-shirt that read “My Ancestors Weren’t Immigrants. Circa 1619.” Both things are true.

Anyway, I’m grateful for good people, good energy, and a good day. I’ll be looking out for the larger rallies across the nation and the world. I pray everyone stays safe.

My D’Angelo memory takes me back to his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. It was circa 1995ish, and I was producing a segment for BET.

He was young. I was young-ish. We spent the day on remote shoots all around Richmond. He was late to every location. Why? Let’s just say his affection for cannabis had his internal (and external) clock running on a different wavelength.

But once we made it to a pool hall, everything shifted. He relaxed, he dropped his guard, his humor came through, as did his talent, and I witnessed greatness in the making.

Looking back, I realize how fortunate I was to have interviewed and booked some of Black music’s best artists. These are the musicians who shaped the soundtracks of our lives. It was before social media (I wish I had taken more photos, but it was frowned upon back then) and before things went viral. It was just pure artistry, heart, soul, and history in the making.

The first photo is from D’Angelo’s performance at the BET’s Soundstage. The second pic I grabbed off the internet because, social media.

RIP, D’Angelo. I know you’re on the other side vibing with Angie Stone and both of you will be looking out for Michael Archer Jr. (aka Swayvo Twain) from great beyond. Thanks for the memories.

This 21st of September was an art-filled Sunday at the National Gallery of Art taking in the “first exhibition to explore photography’s impact on a cultural and aesthetic movement that celebrates Black history, identity, and beauty.”

Did I scream his name when I spotted Oggi Ogburn’s photo on display? Why yes… yes I did! And after making our way through the exhibit, guess who I ran into? You guessed it—Oggi himself (and Neville Waters, too)! What a treat.

The Black Arts Movement takes center stage in this powerful show featuring 150 works that trace the movement from its 1955 roots through 1985.

You’ll experience the bold vision of artists like Billy Abernathy, Romare Bearden, Kwame Brathwaite, Roy DeCarava, Doris Derby, Emory Douglas, and my BET fam Oggi Ogburn.

Don’t miss it—this exhibition runs through January 11, 2026.
See it now, while we can still celebrate art that speaks truth.

Proud Producer and Mentor Moment! This afternoon, I had the absolute joy of watching our Digital Futures Institute fellows see their documentary, Emcees of MC, on the big screen at the Be More Film Festival. It was a thrill to watch the doc in a theater and be fully immersed in the story.

The festival “showcases exciting films, documentaries, and animations from talented artists in Maryland and beyond,” and being selected is such an incredible honor. I couldn’t be prouder of the fellows’ hard work, creativity, and powerful storytelling that brought this project to life.

📺 You can catch Emcees of MC on MCM Channel 21 or stream it on our YouTube channel

The first impact of a deal between chip manufacturer Intel and the Trump Administration, which some economists and conservatives have criticized as potentially affecting free enterprise, is the suspension of an existing partnership with North Carolina Central University’s law school aimed at developing a pipeline for diverse recruits through the university’s Technology Law and Policy Center.

According to CBS News, Kevin Hassett, the director of the White House National Economic Council, indicated that this deal is potentially the first of many in his comments to reporters, an indication that set off the alarm bells of economists and conservatives alike.

Under the deal, the U.S. will now own stock in Intel.
