One of the original Mind Machine bands is doing a hometown reunion show for a cause on October 2nd!
In May of 2016, we wrote and recorded a brand new Sidewise album at Architekt Studio in Butler, New Jersey. Plans were being made for touring and promotion of the album to be released later that year.
In the midst of preparing to release the album, our brother and bandmate Jason, began to suffer from an exacerbation of Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that he had been diagnosed with several years prior. Because of the progressive nature of the disease, it left Jason unable to perform his craft as drummer of the band and began to affect his activities of daily living.
Because of the tremendous generosity of the Sidewise family and the music community, Jason was able to undergo stem cell therapy in February of 2019 in Panama City, Panama, which greatly improved his symptoms. Unfortunately, MS is a chronic and progressive neurological disease, and requires ongoing treatment to manage symptoms as well as a handicap accessible vehicle, being necessary for transport.
With that being said, we are pleased to announce that on October 2nd, we will be hosting our album release/listening party at Warehouse on Broadway in Kansas City, where friends in the music community and Sidewise family will come together for an evening of live music and we will be presenting our unreleased album, “Journey to the Edge”, for the very first time.
“Journey to the Edge” Limited vinyls will be available for purchase at the event and will be released on digital and streaming platforms on 10/3.
Every penny made from the event and sale of the album will be for the benefit of our brother, Jason. ❤️
