Wanted - Range Cowboy - 2 - ZX Ranch - Simplot L&L - Paisley, Oregon - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. This position is not a beginner or entry level position, experience required. The ability to ride young horses, and shoe horses is a requirement. This position will be horseback daily, must have ability to identify sick, injured, or stressed animals; must be able to quietly and competently pull animals from pens for treatment, this position will gather cattle on some of the largest ranges and pastures in Oregon; may assist in calving cows; may supplement feed during winter; may be asked to assist with horse training, may repair pasture and range fences. Must be able to follow instruction, work independently, and also work well with a crew. Assists in treating sick or injured cattle by following an established medical treatment plan provided by the Staff Veterinarian and/or Crew Boss. Assists with processing and shipping cattle by sorting, branding, vaccinating, worming, and tagging. Moves cattle from pasture to pasture as directed by the Crew Boss. Provides care to horses by training, shoeing, doctoring, feeding, and grooming as necessary.
