Momo Cyrus promised that the Lofa road will be pliable in six months if elected as senator of Lofa and thankfully he won; Amb. Boakai too promised that in ninety days, no car will get stuck in mud if elected and he also reaffirmed his commitment after his election as president of the Republic of Liberia.

So, Cyrus needs only to work with his uncle to conquer Lofa's biggest nightmare, bad roads.

Lofa will get better soon!

"I am Disappointed in President Weah.." Representative Briggs-Mensah lashes out.

B**g County District 6 Representative Moima Briggs-Mensah has expressed serious disappointment in President George Weah for allegedly reneging to visit the tanker explosion site in Totota B**g County.

Madam Moima narrated that when the incident happened she sent the video of the explosion and text message to President Weah informing him about, the Liberian reluctantly responded after three days with a mere “Sorry ooo”.

Briggs recounted the support and votes President Weah accrued during the election from B**g County, blasting that the National mourning declared by President George Weah is extremely belated and a disservice to the people of Totota.

The Liberian Lawmaker ,Madam Briggs-Mensah however pledged her support to the President elect Joseph Nyumah Boakai’s government.

11/01/2024

?

Chief Momo Taylor was a great leader. Being an uncle, he also had powerful voice not only among chiefs of the Kissi Land but across Lofa and Liberia. He was a kingmaker, a great landlord and an opinion leader infact. His late father, Chief Tamba Taylor, was also great and powerful. Many past and present leaders of Lofa County can attest to this.

So when Cdcians came to "claim Lofa" with the slogan "development over tradition", Chief Momo Taylor was one of their major targets. They went after him with huge gifts and favors to gain his support. President Weah made him his personal friend; bought for him a brand new pickup worth about 45k USD; offered about 30 motorbikes to his closest chiefs in Foya. He was also taken to Accra-Ghana for a two-week medical visit couple with several offers after he had given-in to support the reelection of president Weah against his kinsman, Amb. Joseph Nyumah Boakai.

Moving forward, President Weah, T5 and the CDC family offered to build for him a "modern house". To do this, they decided to demolish what he ( Momo Taylor) inherited from his late father (Chief Tamba Taylor). This was a tough decision to make. Many other chiefs and elders ( names withheld) didn't see the idea as a good one or traditionally healthy. Many from our investigation opposed the demolition of late the chief's house but were not listen-to; some even suggested that a new spot/parcel of land be located for the project just to ensure the demolition of the chief's house is avoided but to no avail; they were infact at some point in time seen or regarded as enemies of progress, haters of development, etc. They say, Development over Tradition was then louder than any other belief. They back off!

Chief Momo Taylor, who apparently was already enjoying the comfort of his brand new AC-pickup, and was probably already fantasizing about the ambiance of a luxurious home, granted the demolition of his father's house (about 7 bedrooms) against traditional advice and his 3-bedroom modern house construction started. The project was speeding as many believe it was politically driven. The chief became a full supporter of the CDC as he was seen in many rallies on many occasions wearing the party paraphernalia.

A few months later, the cold hands of death rested upon him. He died without taking even a nap in his new home when the project was nearing completion and dedication. This was so sad as it remains. Foya is still mourning the death of its fallen-hero. May his gentle soul rest in peace perpetually.

Today, this belief may be wrong, but in Foya, some people believe that his death was a direct consequence of his decision even though he was battling a certain medical condition. They strongly believe that it was a big traditional error for him to have approved the demolition of his father's foundation; while others believe otherwise. Ask around. There's still a huge controversy surrounding his death even today in the Kissi Community of Foya District.

About three months ago, the building was completed, fully furnished and turned over to the family along with additional one thousand United States Dollars (1k usd) for other internal decorations. The family now has it but who to move in? "No one yet". It's wildly speculated that everyone is afraid to move in based on the aforementioned belief.

Well, whatever the case may be, It's sad to see that this beautiful mansion, worth thousands of United States Dollars, languishing in neglect when people are in search of better homes to live. It's sad. This could probably just be another wasted "Development over Tradition."
