MALAM HARUNA ƊORAYI DESERVES A SPECIAL WEDDING, NOT POLITICALIZATION, CONSIDERING THE UNIQUE TRIAL HE HAS FACED
Malam Haruna Ɗorayi should not have been included among the 3,000 people who were given mass wedding support in Kano State, because the circumstances of the fate that befell him are different from those of the other beneficiaries who were arranged to participate in the wedding.
In my view, it would have been more appropriate to organize a special wedding for Malam Haruna Ɗorayi—one that takes into consideration the challenges he has faced and the lessons that his life story and circumstances carry.
Malam Haruna Ɗorayi is not merely someone seeking support for marriage; his story has become a source of compassion, reflection, and a reminder to society. Therefore, he deserves special attention focused on humanity, compassion, and the preservation of his dignity.
It is unfortunate that his marriage has apparently been linked to politics, to the extent that he was seen wearing a red cap bearing the Omologo logo. This has led some people to feel that an issue that should be approached with compassion and humanitarian concern has been turned into a form of political publicity.
We are not opposed to any assistance or support given to Malam Haruna. No. What we are saying is this: he should be assisted with dignity, treated with compassion, and allowed to let his life story serve as a lesson to society—not be turned into a tool for political warfare.
Sometimes, the greatest form of assistance is not merely what is given to a person; the manner in which it is given, and the dignity preserved in the process, are equally important because they help reveal the true purpose behind the assistance.
Malam Haruna Ɗorayi needs special care—not special politicalization.
