WHY AM I STICKING MY FINGER IN THIS COP’S FACE? 👀

The irony of this footage is crazy.

This was during the Atlanta George Floyd riots, and the officer standing in front of me was known as Red Dog, a former Atlanta Police officer.

But here’s what makes this footage hit differently today…

I was screaming at him about police accountability.

I was telling him that if things were ever going to change, the good cops had to start speaking up against the bad cops.

I was angry.

And that anger was personal.

I was thinking about my friend Pickle — Rest In Peace.

I was FaceTiming him during this period, and I was telling the officer about what had happened to my friend involving the Austin Police Department.

I was also thinking about other people I personally knew or knew of whose lives had been lost during encounters with police.

So no… I wasn’t standing out there just to be in a protest.

I had my own reasons for being angry.

And now, years later, seeing this footage again hits completely different.

The man I was standing face-to-face with has since publicly spoken out and shared strong criticisms about policing.

And all I can think about is what I was yelling that day:

“The good cops have to start speaking up.”

Was this one of those moments where life came full circle? 👀

They ask us revolutionaries, “Why are you so mad?”

My question is simple:

WHY ARE YOU NOT?

Do you not see the oppression? The social engineering? The state of Black America?

Do you not see the violence in our communities, the poverty, the failing neighborhoods, the school-to-prison pipeline, and the generations of economic disadvantages that still affect our communities?

No matter who becomes president, too many of our neighborhoods still look the same.

No matter which politician we elect, too many people still feel railroaded by the system.

So where do I stop?

I could keep going.

And this isn’t about being angry just for the sake of being angry. It’s about being concerned enough to want something better — and motivated enough to do something about it.

If you and your family are doing well, that’s a blessing. But does that mean we stop caring about everybody who hasn’t made it?

Why are you NOT mad?

And if you’re a revolutionary who IS mad — be mad and be proud. But more importantly, turn that frustration into action.

Back then, if you weren’t Screwed Up Click or Swishahouse, it was HARD for an up-and-coming artist to get the city’s attention.

Fans were loyal to the movements they already knew, which made it difficult for other artists to build a fan base and break through.

But a few artists and groups found a way to break through, secure major deals, and reach national audiences.

DSR.
Freestyle Kings.
Charlie Boy.
Beltway 8.
Mista Madd.
Major Moves.

They proved that you could come from outside the two biggest movements and still build a real audience and make it out.

HOW I MADE KEVIN GATES $20,000 BEFORE HE BLEW UP | WILL HUSTLE TV

Before Kevin Gates became a superstar, I had already seen the potential.

I met Kevin Gates through his manager, Fee, who would later become NBA YoungBoy’s manager. When Kevin came through Austin, we linked up and I started doing what I’ve been doing in the music business for years — connecting the right artist with the right people and turning those connections into money.

I reached out to my network, including my brothers JP the Pyrexican 🕊️, rest in peace, and Lil Nut. Almost everybody I contacted had their money ready and was willing to pay for a Kevin Gates feature.

Those connections helped generate around $20,000 for Kevin Gates before he really blew up.

That’s the part of the music business people don’t always see.

I’ve spent years being a plug in the industry — knowing who’s hot, who’s next, who has the money, who needs an artist, and how to put the pieces together. I learned how to monetize those relationships and make a living from the commissions.

And Kevin Gates is just ONE story.

We’ve been watching artists before they became household names — T.I., Lil Flip, Migos, Kevin Gates, and many more.

When Kevin came through Austin, he definitely tapped in with us. We saw the potential early.

That’s what Will Hustle TV has always been about:

There was a time when the Black church was one of the strongest pillars of Black communities — from Black Wall Street to the Civil Rights Movement, churches helped organize, protect, educate, and build economic power.

Black deacons and church members stood up against segregation and, in some communities, even defended their neighborhoods from racial violence and the K*K.

Then the relationship between government and churches began to change.

The Faith-Based Initiative, expanded under President George W. Bush in 2001, encouraged partnerships between the federal government and faith-based organizations, allowing eligible religious organizations to compete for government funding to provide social services.

And history shows that the church has not always been unified behind every movement for Black economic or labor advancement. During the Pullman porters’ fight for unionization, some Black religious leaders initially opposed the union, while others eventually supported it.

Today, we have massive churches and celebrity pastors generating enormous wealth while we continue debating Black poverty, violence, police killings, economic inequality, and the decline of our communities.

This isn’t an attack on Christianity or every Black church. There are many churches doing incredible work.

But it’s a question worth asking:

Did the Black church lose some of its revolutionary and economic role in the community — and if so, how did we get here?
