At 98, actress Lisa Lu is still stealing the spotlight! 🎬 She began her career in Peking opera, starred opposite James Stewart in “The Mountain Road,” and took on leading roles in iconic films such as “The Last Emperor,” “The Joy Luck Club,” "The Arch and The 14 Amazons," and many more.
Now, this elegant Chinese American legend is making history once again, as the oldest person ever to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
A new documentary, “Lisa Lu Plays Herself,” directed by Chen Mei-Juin, premiered on July 12 at Lincoln Center as part of the 24th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF). Told entirely in her own words, the film captures Lu’s extraordinary seven-decade journey across Hollywood and Hong Kong.
At the premiere, she was also honored with the Vanguard Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award. A trailblazer and mother of three, Lu shows us what it truly means to live with purpose and passion. Nothing has ever held her back—and nothing ever will. ❤️
