Stepping Up: Addressing the Criminalization of the Mentally Ill

The Stepping Up Initiative is partnering with psychiatrists, judges, and community leaders to deliver solutions to combat the crisis of mental illness behind bars. Found Object is working on a new documentary following the mental health jail diversion project in Miami that helps steer people with mental illness into treatment not jail. Check out our video addressing the criminalization of the mentally ill and stay tuned for more updates.

Opinion | How to Keep the Lights On After a Hurricane

"After riding out Hurricane Irma’s assault on Necker Island, the house and everything surrounding it was destroyed — except for the solar power array, which laid flat on ground and remained materially intact. Solar power systems survived Irma and kept working in Florida and Haiti. While Hurricane Harvey cut some Texas power lines, no wind farms were destroyed." - Richard Branson & Amory Lovins

Found Object was on Necker Island during this solar install, and has extensively documented the solar work in Haiti. Find more here: http://foundobjectsite.com/work/
