Yes, we host the largest Private Facebook group for moms of LGBTQ+ kids but that is just one thing that the Real Mama Bears organization offers.
Real Mama Bears Organization is dedicated to supporting, educating and empowering families with LGBTQ+ members and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. The organization hosts and manages a variety of private online groups, more than 60 Mama Bear chapters, 7 programs that serve the LGBTQ+ community, and a comprehensive collection of resources.
Here's information about our groups, chapters, programs and resources that we provide:
✨Real Mama Bear Private Groups include:
Serendipitydodah - Home of the Mama Bears: a private Facebook group for moms of LGBTQ+ kids and presently has more than 43,000 members
Real Mama Bears Mighty Network: an extra private group for those moms of LGBTQ+ kids who are no longer comfortable sharing on Facebook
Mama Bears MTK: a private Facebook group for our members who have trans kids
Mama Bears Blue Ocean Faith: a private Facebook group for our members who want to dive deeper into their journey of faith
Mama Bears Double Rainbow: a private Facebook group for our members who have LGBTQ+ kids who are also autistic
Mama Bears for Safer Schools: a private Facebook group for members who have kids in school and those who want to advocate for their LGBTQ+ students.
Mama Bears Friends and Family Group: a private Facebook group for our members friends and family members who are supportive and want to be good allies
Mama Bears for Change: a private Facebook group for those who want to be involved politically and stay up to date about politics that impact the LGBTQ+ community
Mama Bears of Color: a private Facebook group for moms of color who have LGBTQ+ kids and other Mama Bears who want to learn how to be a good ally to LGBTQ+ people of color.

✨Real Mama Bear Chapters:
Mama Bear Chapters make it easier for our members to connect in person for social gatherings and advocacy work.
Each Chapter has its own private Facebook group. There are presently 64 Mama Bear Chapters. We continue to add chapters as needed.
✨Real Mama Bear Programs include:
Mama Bears to the Rescue - Mama Bears are available to be a loving presence in the lives of LGBTQ+ people who need support. The Mama Bears to the Rescue volunteers do things such as include LGBTQ+ people who need support in their holiday gatherings, stand in as affirming moms at same gender weddings, send notes of encouragement, find helpful resources, talk on the phone, text, get together for coffee and other small acts of kindness.
Mama Bears Giving Circle - This program awards grants to organizations that support and serve the LGBTQ+ community. This program started in March 2022 and has already given more than $450,000.00. Those who give monthly to the Mama Bears Giving Circle are considered members and they nominate and vote on who receives the grants. Four grants are awarded every six months.
Mama Bear Blanket Project - Delivers no sew handmade blankets to LGBTQ+ teens and adults who need support and encouragement.
Mama Bear Little Box of Rainbows - invites members of Serendipitydodah - Home of the Mama Bears Facebook group to send care packages to members of the LGBTQ+ community who need support and encouragement. Every care package is unique & created by an individual Mama Bear.
Mama Bear Story Project - a collection of autobiographical essays and personal portraits from Mama Bears.
Mama Bears Holiday Hugs - Mama Bears send Holiday messages of love, hope and affirmation to LGBTQ+ people during the November and December Holiday Season.
Mama Bear Safer Schools Program - Dedicated to empowering parents to become effective advocates for their LGBTQ+ students because we have discovered the best way to create change in schools is through parental involvement.
