The Facts Newspaper weekly community newspaper, with a readership of over 80,000. The most picked up and read newspaper, published every Wednesday. The Facts Newspaper was established September 7, 1961 by Fitzgerald Redd Beaver, and was one of the first Black oriented newspaper in the Pacific Northwest. The Facts appeared as a sixteen page metro- sized chronicle of Black heritage reporting on th

e success and transition within the Black community. The Facts was distinguished by its personal character, pink pages and remarkable longevity. Beaver was a teacher as well as an inspirational and motivational leader for other publications in the Pacific Northwest. He provided encouragement and a beginning for several publishers, including Mr. Christopher Bennett of the Seattle Medium Newspaper, Mrs. Virginia Taylor of the Northwest Dispatch and Mr. Bernard Foster of the Portland and Seattle Skanner Newspaper. The passing of Mr. Beaver January 1, 1992 left the Facts Newspaper in the capable leadership of Mrs. Elizabeth Beaver, his grand prized student. The Fact Newspaper is currently operated by Marla and LaVonne Beaver with the continued guidance of its original grand prized student Elizabeth Beaver. Readership of over 80,000 readers which extends throughout King and Pierce County.

Celebrates 75th Church Anniversary
You are cordially invited to join the Curry Temple Family as we celebrate our 75th Church Anniversary on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. We would also like to introduce our pastor, Reverend Jacqueline Harris, who has been reassigned for her second year at Curry. Reverend Harris was assigned temporarily last July and has been reassigned this July for another year. She comes from Richmond, CA. and is currently a Chaplain in the Trauma Center at Harborview Medical Center. We are excited to have Reverend Harris to return to us for another year.

Curry Temple is located at 172 – 23rd Avenue (Corner of 23rd and East Spruce, one block south of Garfield High School) in Seattle. Please join us in celebrating 75 years of history in the Lord.
