As the new President Joe Biden Administration and The White House team begin to take root, we are certainly excited that they are bringing back what has been known through the years as as the weekly "radio" address. The weekly radio address (or "podcast" address) is an important way for the executive branch to disseminate information, and we are glad that it is coming back in style. Our own, Richard Strauss, once served as the first-ever White House Radio Director for President Clinton, helping to produce and distribute his Saturday morning weekly radio address to connect with hundreds of local radio stations throughout the nation. Feel free to check out this insightful article from The New York Times and reporter, Michael Grynbaum.

On this day 94 years ago, the Radio Act was signed into law by President Coolidge. This act created the Federal Radio Commission, a regulatory body which restored order to the broadcast spectrum and established many standards that are still in practice today. The FRC was eventually replaced by the Federal Communications Commission in 1934.
