Good morning parents and kiddos! Andi Green, the author of one of our favorite book series, The WorryWoo Monsters will be reading her award winning book, Don't Feed the Worry Bug, today 3/25 at 11:30am on Facebook Live at facebook.com/worrywoos.
You and your kids might recognize the Worry Woo series from our Read All About It program in St. Clair County, where we purchase a book for each Elementary School in the county and send it with teaching materials for Reading Month.
In an interesting coincidence, we purchased Don't Feed the Worry Bug as this year's book, and schools can look forward to receiving it when they are back in session!
Why we love the Woos - The WorryWoos books are designed to promote social/emotional learning, helping children foster their emotional intelligence, learning like empathy, self esteem, coping skills, self regulation, and emotional awareness. The Worry Woos team has great resources on both their page and websites. Check them out!
In a world thatβs so fast and furious, exciting yet exhausting, never has there been more urgency in educating our children in how to manage and connect with their emotions. That's why WVCCC is excited to introduce you to our newest work companions. The WorryWoosβ’ Developing Emotional Intelligence (DEI) Programme is specifically designed to build emotional intelligence and resilience in Australian children.
Emotional well-being is the foundation for happiness and success in school and in life generally. Being able to recognise and embrace our emotions, as well as having parents, teachers and educators who can help navigate the rapidly changing 21st century is essential in making sure children can advance in all phases of educational growth.
The uniqueness of this programme lies in its approach and flexibility; teachers can adapt virtually anything in the kit to suit the childrenβs needs and the space and time available β without the need for extensive in-service training. The programme offers the potential to integrate many areas of the curriculum including literacy, music and the visual and performing arts, making learning inclusive, enticing and enjoyable.

My son Johnny and I had an awesome time at Swift school last night, meeting Andy Green and the Worry Woos! We learned some great tips to help us keep calm. And I'll try to remember to "put my oxygen mask on first"! Thanks Andy!
My baby had the privilege to hear Andi Green at a book reading (Art House) circa Oct. 2015 and once again Oct 2019. Congratulations!!! We wish you continued success!
