đđŠ MYRCELLA KNEW JAIME WAS HER REAL FATHER⊠AND JUST WHEN JAIME FINALLY HEARD THE WORDS HE HAD NEVER BEEN ALLOWED TO HEAR, SHE DIED IN HIS ARMS.
For most of her life, Myrcella Baratheon was presented to the world as the daughter of King Robert Baratheon and Queen Cersei Lannister.
But the truth was far more dangerous.
Her real father was Jaime Lannister.
Jaime had three biological children with CerseiâJoffrey, Myrcella and Tommenâbut because their relationship could never be publicly acknowledged, Jaime was forced to live beside his own children as their âUncle Jaime.â
He could protect them.
He could watch them grow.
But he could never openly call them his children. đ
And Myrcella was completely different from Joffrey.
She was gentle, intelligent and compassionate. Even Tyrion observed how remarkable it was that someone so kind could come from the same family as Joffrey.
When Myrcella was sent to Dorne, Jaime eventually traveled there with Bronn to bring her home.
On the journey back to Kingâs Landing, Jaime finally decided to tell her the truth.
He awkwardly began explaining that relationships could sometimes be complicated and that people couldnât always choose whom they loved.
But Myrcella already understood.
She knew.
And instead of reacting with disgust or anger, she gave Jaime something he had probably dreamed about for years.
âI know about you and Mother.â
Then she told him she was glad.
âIâm glad that youâre my father.â đ
Look at Jaimeâs face in that moment.
For perhaps the first time in Myrcellaâs entire life, Jaime wasnât simply the Kingslayer.
He wasnât her uncle.
He wasnât Cerseiâs secret lover.
He was her father.
And his daughter knew exactly who he wasâand still accepted him.
Jaime barely had time to process it.
Barely enough time to smile.
Barely enough time to experience what it felt like to have his daughter openly recognize him.
Then Myrcellaâs nose began bleeding.
The poison Ellaria Sand had placed on her lips was taking effect.
Myrcella collapsed into Jaimeâs arms.
And the man who had spent her entire life unable to publicly hold her as his daughter was finally able to do soâŠ
only while watching her die. đ
That is what makes Myrcellaâs death so devastating.
Jaime waited years for something he thought he could never have.
Not a throne.
Not glory.
Not forgiveness.
Just acknowledgment from his child.
And the moment he finally received it, it was taken away from him.
Myrcella died knowing Jaime was her father.
And Jaime returned to Kingâs Landing carrying the body of the daughter who had finally called him exactly what he was. đđŠ
Sometimes Game of Thrones didnât need a massive battle or a shocking ex*****on to break your heart.
Sometimes all it needed was a father hearing:
âIâm glad that youâre my father.â
And realizing he would never hear it again. đ
Was Myrcellaâs death one of the most underrated heartbreaking moments in Game of Thrones? đđ
