Space debris, or Space Bees?

Find out in MONARCH, the exciting new novel COMING SOON!

MONARCH is a fast-paced 50s sci-fi homage with heart, humor, and hordes of horrifically huge hornets!

The captain of the United Airlines 737 that diverted to Salt Lake City says his plane was struck by space debris while cruising at 36,000 feet. Newly surfaced photos of the cockpit show impact damage that appears consistent with a high-speed collision from outside the aircraft.

Last May, for World Bee Day, we had encouraged everyone to plant a pollinator garden over the summer. How many of you did so, and how successful were you? I'd love to hear your stories and see your pictures!

Sadly, our backyard garden, while it produced a large amount of vegetables and flowers, it didn't really attract the usual number of bees or butterflies this year. In fact, insect sightings overall were noticeably reduced.

Which was a shame, as I missed our yearly visit from the praying mantises.

Maybe the upcoming space bee invasion in MONARCH had them spooked, who can say? :)

Regardless, we remain undeterred and will try again next year with earlier planning, more bee hotels and butterfly houses, and more flowering plants and native plant species.

Thanks everyone for your support and following along!

AI-generated spam directed at authors is not only overwhelming our inboxes, but it is driving a wedge between authors and their readers. Until something is done about it, Robin Hobb's "no reply" policy will have to become everyone's. And that couldn't be more tragic.

When I was a fledgling writer, I read that Isaac Asimov replied to every reader letter he ever received. (This was before Email. Yes, I am that old.) And I resolved that I wanted to be like him. Over the years, I flatter myself that I kept up pretty well, even with the email. Like Asimov,...

That time I partnered with the Norman Rockwell Museum to describe and defend their fantasy art exhibit, "Enchanted: A History of Fantasy Illustration".

Julie Bell, the iconic, world-renowned fantasy artist, personally thanked me for penning the article and shared it to her social media pages.

Julie Bell, Pegasus Befriends the Muses, 2018, © Julie Bell The Fine Art of Fantasy In recent decades, there has been a regrettable tendency among historians and academics to discredit, or even shun, fantasy fiction. Genre titles, they argue, lack the aesthetic merit required to qualify as legitima...
