Breaking News: Tonj SDA Central Church its store set ablash last night at 2:14 A.m 30th/April/2026 in Tonj Town, Greater Bhar El Ghazal Field of Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The eye witness shared to this editor that the church's store house was set ablash by unknown person;the church was as well set on fire but the rescue team managed to cease the burning fire.

The church got huge loses;the church properties were burned in store house, thou some were rescued.

This is not the first time for such news to be reported, in the previous years many churches got burned by individuals well known to be from other denominations, but no action taken by the g'vt for these culprits to face the law.

What do you thing would be the best way to be taken by the church to end such violences ,and destructions against the church. Considering that the g'vt grants freedom of worship in the consitituation of the Republic of South Sudan?

OVER 204,000 SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST MEMBERS REPORTED MISSING IN LOCAL CHURCH’S REGISTERS FOR 2025

The latest 2026 annual statistics released by the Office of Archives, Statistics, and Research at the General Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventists have revealed that 204,222 members have reportedly gone missing in 2025, a significant increase from 181,663 in 2024.

The statistics compiled as part of the 2026 Annual Statistical Report show a 22,559 rise in the number of missing members. The report provides detailed figures from 13 Divisions and the territories attached to the General Conference, showing a clear picture of where membership loss is most pronounced.

The South American Division has seen the largest increase in missing members, with figures climbing from 83,320 in 2024 to 100,710 in 2025, representing an increase of 17,390 members going missing in the church register.

Similarly, the Southern Africa-Indian Ocean Division (SID) experienced a rise from 20,710 missing members in 2024 to 32,953 in 2025. The Southern Asia-Pacific Division also reported an increase, with missing members growing from 2,696 to 6,276 in 2025.

The East-Central Africa Division, in contrast, reported a decrease in missing members, falling from 11,624 in 2024 to 7,449 in 2025, which could indicate improvements in membership tracking, robust nurturing efforts,or other demographic factors.

The 2026 report shows that while some regions have seen reductions in missing members, the overall global increase raises concerns over retention and the effectiveness of member nurturing initiatives.

It is important for all church members to consider implementing new strategies alongside traditional methods in order to improve member retention. With digital tools at our disposal, these should be efficiently utilised to enhance constant engagement and communication among our members. May the merciful Lord bless our efforts and influence. May He bless our church.

Bethel SDA Nursery and Primary School Kicks Off First Term Exams

Monday, April 27, 2026 – Today marked the start of the first term exams at Bethel SDA Nursery and Primary School. The morning session saw our Nursery and Lower Primary Pupils (P1–P3) tackling their English paper, while the Upper Primary Pupils (P4–P8) took on Social Studies (SST) in the afternoon.

The school administration is encouraging all Pupils to stay disciplined, confident, and focused during this exam period. Parents and guardians are kindly asked to support their children by ensuring they arrive at school on time, well-prepared, and in good health.

To help our learners shine, the school recommends getting enough sleep, eating well, and revising on time. Pupils are also reminded to bring along essential materials like pens, pencils, and rulers.

The management of Adventist Jonglei Radio sends warm wishes to every pupil. Good luck on your exams!

I sincerely hope I am wrong, but I have been deeply concerned about what seems like the rise of ceremonial Adventism among many of our young people in the church.

These days, you see the uniforms, the bands, the youth conventions, the student congresses, and all the outward expressions of church life. The activities are vibrant, the programs are full, and the ceremonies are beautiful.

But I cannot help but ask:

Do we still know why we are who we are?

Do we know why we eat what we eat?
Do we understand what we believe?
How many of our fundamental beliefs can we clearly explain?
More importantly, do we truly care?

Sometimes it feels like the ceremony is growing faster than conviction.

We know how to march.
We know how to sing.
We know how to wear the uniform.

But do we know Christ?

Do we understand the Sabbath beyond tradition?
Do we know the gospel beyond culture?
Do we carry our faith in our hearts, or only on our sleeves?

With the growing rise of marriages outside the fold and increasing indifference toward doctrine, I sometimes wonder whether we are raising disciples or merely preserving appearances.

This is not written as condemnation.
It is a sincere burden.

I honestly hope I am not just being a blind critic.
Perhaps I am wrong.
But if there is any truth in this, then maybe it is time for honest reflection.

Are we building identity around ceremony, or around Christ?

Community Service by Seventh-day Adventist Youths – Wau SDA Church District
Date: Sunday, April 19, 2026
Activity: General Cleaning under Possibility Ministry

As part of the ongoing Public Evangelism series in Wau, the Seventh-day Adventist youths of Wau SDA Church District demonstrated Christ’s love through practical service to the community.

Guided by the spirit of Possibility Ministry — _“All things are possible through Christ who strengthens us”_ — the young people mobilized for a general cleaning exercise around Medan Ali and Sika Hadit Street.

With brooms, rakes, and willing hearts, the youth collected garbage, swept streets, and restored dignity to public spaces used daily by thousands. Their service was a living sermon, showing that the gospel is not only preached but also practiced.

What an amazing blessing to the community! Residents and passersby expressed appreciation for the act of love, unity, and civic responsibility. This outreach reflects the Adventist commitment to wholistic ministry: caring for body, mind, society, and soul.

We thank God for our youth who choose to be the hands and feet of Jesus. May this act inspire others to serve, and may Wau be blessed as we continue to share hope during these evangelistic meetings.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16
